Mon laptop et moi nous retrouvons enfin.
Ursula 1000 est un Néo-yorkais qui, d'apparence, a subit une influence musique très diverse. Sa musique effleure l'électro, le lounge, le jazz, tout ceci par phases et penchants. Certainement une oeuvre éclectique. Voici qu'il m'envoie deux remix, l'un du français Easy D et l'autre du toujours aussi roux Redd Foxx, qui feront partie d'un maxi que sortira prochainement Ursula le millénaire.

Ursula 100 is a New Yorker who has seemingly been influenced by a very diverse array of musical genres. Two remixes done of his track Kaboom graced my email today, one by Frenchman Easy D and the other by Ursula's fellow American, Redd Foxx. These two remixes will be part of Ursula 1000's upcoming single on ESL Music.

Having lost my laptop's powercord, I've also lost a part of my routine. I'm making due though, struggling through these hard times. The funny thing about having to translate theses posts now is that I can't really say in English what I say in French. For example in the French part of this post, I tell the readers to try and survive without my usually eloquent and more frequent posts. I am probably much less eloquent in English though (and probably not even that eloquent in French). Oh and yes I'm bored to the point that I felt like explaining this was relevant.

Idéal!

En parlant du duc, je parle bien sûr de Duke Dumont qui, depuis un certain de temps, fait pas mal de bruit sur la scène électro en Angleterre ainsi que dans le monde (même jusque dans les clubs miteux de Hull...lors de nos soirées). Every time I see a Franki Chan email in my inbox, I get excited. This time, it's a great remix of a duo that owes a good part of its recognition to Franki's efforts, Matt and Kim. Great synths and guitar.

Bon, le temps est venu de partager quelques sucreries récentes avec vous!
Premièrement, un remix de The Prayer par Bloc Party qu'un certain Cutoff, en collaboration avec Flaxen (désolé, pas de lien à l'appui) nous ont envoyé plus tôt aujourd'hui. Il en vaut l'écoute, croyez-moi.

Puis, même si le film des Simpson est sorti il y a de cela un certain bout de temps, j'ai enfin réussi à trouver le remix que Diplo avait produit de la chanson Do the Bart Man, qui était sortie en tant que morceau promotionnel pour le film. Assez comique et très très fresh.

Oh Baron
Baron Von Luxxury, de la formation Luxxury, connaît sa part de succès et d'accolades, ces derniers mois. Son groupe, ses remix, ses productions, tout semble fonctionner, dans son cas. Il en demeure ainsi. Il me fait parvenir un joli remix qu'il avait laissé de côté mais qu'il a finalement finalisé, et aussi un excellent mix qui comprend un nouveau remix exclusif de sa part. Ça se voit dans leurs visages, les Jokers of The Scene veulent que vous écoutez leur mix. Et pourquoi pas?. Plein d'exclusivités, plein de nouvelles productions de leur cru, sonnant le début de leur collaboration avec Fool's Gold. J'ai eu la chance de les voir mixer leurs nouveaux bijous deux ou trois fois, et l'effet est plutôt dévastateur. Gardez un oeil ouvert pour la sortie prochaine de simples, maxis et 12 pouces.

You can see it in their faces. The Jokers of the Scene want you to listen to their mix, fuck. And why not? I've been lucky enough to see them spin these new toys live a couple of times now, and the result is pretty harsh (in a good way, nikki). Keep an eye out for upcoming releases.
Pratique Drastik
Drastik, Pat pour les intimes, est probablement mon DJ local préféré. Lors du show ci-haut, j'étais plutôt saoûl, mais j'étais tout à fait atterré à chaque mix qu'il faisait (on se moquait de moi peut-être) et chaque morceau joué était un redoublement de joie. C'est donc avec joie que j'ai reçu son dernier mix qu'il m'a fait parvenir en exclusivité. Un mix qui reflète l'état d'esprit du DJ, qui forme un entier et qui évolue de façon cohérente du début à la fin. Faites-en l'écoute, c'est spécial.

Drastik, Pat as I have taken to calling him, is no doubt one of my favorite local DJs. In the above pictured show, I was probably a bit too drunk for my own good, but I was absolutely going bananas at every mix he was dropping (to some's amusement). Each tracked seemed to double the excitement of the last. That's why I'm very excited to post his new mix for you, which he sent over exclusively, yay. One of those rare mixes that reflects a DJs state of mind, that forms a whole and that progresses coherently between tracks from start to finish. Give it a nice listen, it's well worth it.
